Mortise locks and old hardware
We specialize in residential locks. These doors are from 1904, they use old mortise hardware and skeleton keys. We had to repair the mortise mechanism and install a new mortise cylinder to get the door working properly. The best way to keep your old hardware working smooth is to lubricate your locks with WD40 and make sure the frame and latch are aligned properly with the door lock so you don’t have to force the bolt to close. Also have a locksmith check the lock for any other adjustments needed to make it last.
